The Mav3rik Mark

As I’m waiting to board my flight to San Francisco to attend my first Dreamforce as a Mav3rik, thought I’d reflect a little bit on our journey especially having just passed the half year mark into our existence as a Salesforce partner.

So what have we been up to in the last 6 and a bit months?

To begin with, our team has grown significantly from the initial 2 that Sean (my business partner) and I started as. We are well ahead of the Year 1 team size target we captured in the business plan we submitted to Salesforce to become a registered partner. Although it’s happened quickly, we’ve made sure we didn’t compromise on quality hiring not just based on Salesforce skills, but on overall experience and more importantly on attitude while focusing on building and keeping a good culture. As I mentioned when we first formed Mav3rik, people are joining us for the right reasons and not just because we are offering more $$$ (since we typically don’t!).

We’ve had great traction in terms of client engagements, working on architecture and advisory to delivery of Salesforce business applications and custom mobile and web applications. I’m especially proud of a recent project go-live with one of our very first clients and who we’ve always had a really good relationship with. (Shout out to AHPRA!… absolutely changing the game for government and regulatory bodies). I guess one thing I can say with most (if not all) of our engagements, they’re never just a “transaction” to us. I’d like to think we have become our clients’ trusted advisors and established a genuine partnership to support them in their own Salesforce journeys – be it a small, tactical project or a large, strategic and transformational program.

We have been active in the community in general having delivered multiple Salesforce dev group presentations in Melbourne and Perth and a Melbourne Down Under breakout session on topics such as Salesforce DX and CLI plugins – with even more interesting topics lined up soon.

We have played a key role in uplifting Architecture capability in the Salesforce APAC ecosystem through the CTA Prep Workshops in Australia and India and more future collaborations with Trailhead and other teams.

Finally, there’s also this video that we did with friends from Talent Hub Global – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7m-SVu-eLo – where we introduced our team and shared our insights on the market, focusing on how we increase capacity and enhance capability.

I can’t wait to see what the next half a year (and more) brings to Mav3rik. I’m excited about our future plans and what else we will be taking on individually and collectively as a team.

In more ways than one, this Dreamforce trip definitely feels a lot different from the previous ones I’ve taken as a Salesforce employee. It also symbolises the mark we’ve made so far in the ecosystem.

Onwards and upwards! #beamav3rik 💪🏻

QUICK NOTE: This wasn’t published using airline wifi — I actually enjoyed catching up on sleep and watching the latest movies instead:)
